The Orb of Deception is a trinket that drops off from a lot of mobs level 58 and up. The orb requires level 54 to use, and when used it will transforms the caster to look like a member of the opposing faction.

The orb will make Gnome in to Tauren, and Tauren in to Gnome. Human in to Orc, and Orc in to Human. Night Elf in to Undead, and Undead in to Night Elf. Dwarf in to Troll and Troll in to Dwarf. Blood Elf in to Draenei, and Draenei in to Blood Elf.
 
The sex of the user will not change, unless you use a Noggenfogger Elixir (before or after the using of the orb).
 
The transforms will last for 5 minute, and the orb have 30 minute cool down. Your appearance will change and you can use must emotes of your new look. However NPC (like city guards) will recognize you as what you really are.
 
So why is this trinket so cool? Beside the nice effect you get while in a group or a raid.
 
This is one well known “evil-deed” or a practical joke you can do to a noob: If you have a Rogue you can transform yourself and become stealth. Come from behind a low level inside your own city and see his response. You can have a lot of fun seeing some random shouting “a stealth Rogue…” running away, sometimes Mages will cast AoE’s all over the place, or Hunters will shoot flares left and right.
 
The orb itself only binds when equipped, so you best just buy it if you can’t get it to drop for you. An Orb of Deception will cost from 50 gold to 500 gold dependent on the server you are on.
